I would first ply line and lay a wooden floor, that way you are starting with a flat surface. Before you do that, it's worth putting in insulation, in your case to keep the heat out rathere than in! Is it possible to get rockwool loft insulation where you are? If not try commercial carpet underlay as used in offices, nither burn if the worst happens.

Hello
When I had my Mk1 camper carpeted I got a mate who owns a carpet laying firm http://www.empireflooring.co.uk to do it.He used a rubber backed waterproof commercial carpet (the same as we had laid all through the tool shop and store rooms, which has worn brilliantly) he used a strong contact glue and a mallet to beat it down round the arches and in the hollows in the floor etc.The whole thing including the back was done with one piece. The finished job looks great and even with a couple of hairy dogs doing their best to mess it up again it cleans easily.(one thing I did learn is that he lays carpet with the 'grain' facing a door so it can be easily swept clean. He probably lives too away from most people to make it worthwhile for him to fit (certainly true for transit owners in Australia although if they paid the air fare he would probably go!),but I'm sure he'd be willing to advise on problems etc by e-mail.
