My Mk1

Postby stooy » Tue Mar 15, 2005 6:27 am

Hello all,

I am new here someone sent me a link to this site off ebay because i bid on some tail lights.

I have a 1974 Mk 1 Transit 115 Bus. Its the Austrailian model with the 6 cylinder auzzie falcon engine (factory fitted). So its a 3300cc Straight 6 with 135hp and a 3 speed borg warner automatic. My grandfather bought it off the red cross when it was 2 years old and when he stopped driving it got it as i was just getting my lisence. Its on LPG (thankfully as the price of petrol is expencive here and its a bit tirsty). Its my only car and i drive it every day to college. When we have the time on weekends it goes away with us towing the boat or with my rover crew towing out torana mud car. Its increadably useful and i inted to keep it permantly.

As far as the body goes it has had very minor rust in the rear left gutter and thats about it as my grandfather kept it in his garage for 26 years. it has 193,000kms on the clock so it hasnt even done much work.

Any advice on a source of tail light lenes would be much appriciated as i only have one good one and its on the car (my second is held togother with glue and silicon.

Thanks

Stewart

try http://www.photobucket.com, sign up for a free account and upload some pics to it. See the instuctions for posting pics in 'Gallery'. I have called madmark in the past and talked him through it, but I can't afford to do that with Oz!

Nice one Luke with the 'hands accross the sea' bit!
Have you thought of Russia? Over there Transits (even Mk2s) are hideously expensive. I once stumbled accoross a russian dealer's site. Now I can't read russian but I understand numbers and the prices were in US$, but what I can gather is we are sat on about £35,000 worth of Mk2s!!
