MOT fail

Postby white van clan » Sun Jul 27, 2008 10:39 am

My van failed MOT yesterday, on drag link ends, (my fault, should have checked) and all 6 tyres, there are 6 tyres that look new but are 6 ply rating instead of 8, so I'm now running around the local transit lot trying to borrow 6 wheels with good tyres, It's just a pain in the rs!!!!!!!
Apart from that, the tester said it was pretty good, so I am fairly smug :D

Commercial tyres can be 6 or 8 ply.

Did your original tyre say commercial or C on them (ans in 185x14C? They have to say either, we once had some jobsworth try to fail a van for not having the whole word commercial spelled out, despite there being a set of ne C rated tyres! Had to go to VOSA for that one, but got a pass in the end. Car tyres are not C rated and won't pass.
