Thanks for the response. My van has a few foibles that I'd like to run past someone who knows the MK2. I've always had "older" vehicles and always been ripped off by garages since Ken Marriott retired (he had a great little garage in Carlton in Nottm). Most pressing at the moment is my loose gearstick and an ominous knocking from the front suspension.

Ken was a good bloke, had many dealings with him when I was working for his mate Dave Howarth (Hillcrest Garage).
