i take out my mk3 box from a pickup -86 one month ago. it fits the mk2. I will try to open it one day to see if i can use the mk2 steering "pole" up to the steering wheel. More powerful?? the mk3.. you say ??? interesting??

I am looking for some heavy duty steering box, too.... as my mk2 box has run 220.000km.

Oh i almost forgot... the mk3 pittman arm is somewhat different. it will fit the mk2 if you work a little 1cm with a grinder.... it seems more HD.

i think what i'll do is fit the mk3 h/d box and mount for now and see how it is :D that way if i want to change to pas ive got the right mount to bolt it to later

the only thing that puts me off the pas box is the reliability :?

for some month ago i take off my mk2 box and steering wheel, all together and i took some measures. I found out that 3 holes in the torpedo wall has to be drilled, and the steering box is fitting... one problem with my mk2... its not large.. but the pittmans arm from mk3 to mk2 is different, and you will see that if you got them both... the steering rod is almost touching some metal, and you will have to grind some away... not a big issue... But the bigger issue was the mk3 steering and switch and all that stuff that goes with in the dasjhboard. Some holes has to be drilled, but thats it.... I have not buildt the mk3 steering box on my mk2 afterall since i will use a mk2 heavy duty aftermarked one. but it was cool to see it fit..

My question is, what oil is there on the steering box.... since my mk3 box was leaking, my mk2 box is dry... so i wonder???
