switch me back on!help!

Postby hippy » Tue Dec 16, 2008 1:21 pm

hiya...in australia, in search for an indicator switch/horn high beam arm thingo... last time I took my van in to a mechanic they broke it (just the indicator ) as they forced it- I think because there is only one light on the dash on the left that flashes for both ways so they thought they had to push it further to get it to flash on the right or something! :? any ideas that won't cost an arm and a leg? :D

Hi, these things are fragile and break easily ( some plastic thingy inside will be broken). I have a spare one but sadly that is for a RHD. You can buy them new from http://www.oldcars.de

Here's a link:

good luck

hiya.
thanks for that...have checked them out before. thought $100++ euros was a bit much plus postage to oz.or maybe I'm dreaming!
whats RHD? is that right hand drive?
my brother has a'69 transit but the plug on the switch doesn't fit. apparently the mk2 switch matches but has a shorter arm.I have pulled it apart and it is the delicate plastic thingy!
cheers. :)

you can use a mk1 stalk for both sides with a little bending  most have the plug on the end that will be difrent ,this you just cut off and resolder your original plug on the end!

Sorry, I ment the spare one I have is LHD ( left hand drive), so it's no use to You. The one from the link is RHD ( Right hand drive).

cartooner it wont make any difrence it will just bend down towards your nee if you fit the older one ,just bend it up and it will work fine!
