3.0 V6 Essex was not an option in the Netherlands. Anyway, a 2.8 Cologne never was a standard engine in the Transit anywhere, so this is definately a donor engine. You can check the identification plate which is attached to the passenger-side doorstep. There should be a code there in the box for the engine. There are codes for the engine, gearbox and axle, so check that out if You really want to know.
