Let me first introduce myself. I'm Michiel from the Netherlands. In the autumn I bought a nice transit (mk1) autohome. (see www.mchristoph.nl/transit ). She needs a bit of attention, but the basis is good. As a silent member of this forum I already learnt alot, a great resource, but now I have a question.
One thing that needed attention was the lack of power (not a bit, but a lot). After opening up the carb (a Solex 32 TDID) I soon found out why (wonder she even had a bit of power...) See www.mchristoph.nl/carb .
A LOT of dirt, but more important, one of the two "thingies" (see 2nd pic) freely wandered around in my carb. I already ordered a repair kit and started cleaning, but as you can see on the 2nd pic, one of the two thingies (the left) is a bit damaged by the years of bouncing around in the carb. It now doesn't fit anymore where it belongs. I already searched the internet but still unable to find a replacement. Does anyone know if it is possible to find a replacement?
Otherwise I will have to try to repair it. I could possibly dril a hole and put in a tube of the same size, it will be a precise job. Any suggestions?
