hi, can you tell me do replacement wings have to be spot welded into place or can they be pop rivetted. i've got a mig welder which i can't use and a pop rivetter which i can use. regards dave

they have been welded continusly olong the top edge. but i think that had been done by the previous owner.

you can legally (MOT wise) pop rivit them as they are not structurally load bearing :D but if you want to win best in show then get that mig out :lol:

My mk2 has both wing bolted with some kind of self tapping bolts M8 or M10, it was done by a friend of the previous owner who was a panel beater. They are laid on some kind of silicon product (Bond and seal or somwthing like that..) and then thightend by bolts. Is that posible to do it in a mk1??
