Yes, mine had a 3 litre V6 essex engine in it, its a Mk 1. It hoovers petrol up at an alarming rate!! Specially a heavy motorhome. . .
The good news is you can rip out the petrol, and fit a 2.5Di engine and MT 75 5 speed gearbox straight in, as they already fit. Its a bit of a fiddle(and you have to get the front section of the prop shaft shortened and re-balanced) but i get up to 37 mpg at a steady 55 miles an hours. I have checked this precisely: tank to brim, note down current milage. Drive 100 miles +. Fill up tank to brim again, note down how much. nukmber of litres/miles done gives a precise mile per litre. X 4.54 for mpg.
