If you are skiled enough and have the right tools, then you can fabricate them from 1.5mm or greater sheet steel. First take out the outline on a piece of cardboard and then after cutting produce the lip on a vice. Here some of my pics. still have to do the other side :D

I have an extremley crusty and flaky front end .
My hangers are knackered too
Looks like good advice about the hangers as unable to track any down.
At the moment cutting front crossmember welding patches out and starting again so I will try fabricating these too.
Are they strong enough though?

My advice:
better if you find some mk3's as luke sugested
or
if you will fabricate them, I used 1.5mm sheet steel, and made the hanger from two sheets on one another spoted together.
If I will do it now , I would go for a single sheet perhaps 3mm or thicker, so to avoid having 2 sheets spotted together , between which moisture can form starting rust.

Make them yourself! They would be better out of 3mm sheet
