mk 2 overdrive gearbox swap

Postby davev6newman » Mon May 18, 2009 8:12 pm

i would like to put an overdrive box onto my 2.0 pinto camper 100.

Iit will come with the cross member and tail end of the prop. Would this fit straight on to the existing mounting holes, also i know i would need to get the prop shortened, but do i need to have the centre bush holder repositioned?
Also i have been told that the speedo would read wrong? is this true?

Regards Dave

The gear boxes are longer. When I did my Mk1 I had to reposition the centre mount and cut the prop to shorten it and as the flanges were completely different.
Hope that helps.

if you can get a overdrive gearbox flange then have your prop alterd!
the corssmember will fit no problems on a mk2,
the speedo will more than likely be out this you can check with a tom tom

i was lucky with my mk1 it uses a complete prop from a 1987 mk3
