still own it. thats the problem the last two meets ive been to couldnt decide what van to take, but thought going to a transit meet so go in the transit.

well your Transit is a stunner too so good choice for a Transit show do you take the econoline to NSVA or UKSV shows i dont think i've ever seen it before

mostly go to hot rod shows/nsra events. keep meaning to go to more van shows, but always miss them.

Yeh on me way back from Fort William
As I`ve got away with posting pic of Thames thought i miight post a couple of pics of my first Ford which was the 1958 ford Thames 5cwt 100e side valve( Note the go faster stripes)

you might get away with the van pics but the hairstyles pritty shocking

my dads 1st 2 4 wheeled vehicles were 100e vans - one of them he scrapped after he'd crashed it and bust the radiatior he drove it to the scrappy with no water in with his mate following - expecting the engine to sieze on the way ........ it eventually packed up but it was the plug leads that'd melted onto the engine that did it

Had heads of bit of water trouble took it to a guy to get skimmed he said bit warped gona have to take a bit off OK do what you need anyway refitted head & tell you what WHOOSH might have even have given you a race in that video Luke but big ends did`nt last long after that & they did`nt have shells in them you had to get them remetilised or something like that so sold it on to my uncle who ended up putting new lump in

Thought I`d move on 40yrs this is me 2007 toured from Cairns north east australia down to Sydney Transit went well but noisy thought it might have had a bit more insulation being a camper.
On the subject of the 100e anybody on here ever tried refitting the valves putting the collets back on before releasing the springs on a side valve with engine still in the car, bloody nightmare SIdsop might have done he knows how to release the linkage on the 15cwt

Strangely enough I don't know how to do it. I have done very little mechanical bits on the old nail, the only things I have had to do are the accelerator pump was stuck in the carb, and set the tappets.
I do know that to change the vacuum/fuel pump on a Thames, you have to drop the oil filter off. What a pain that is.
I also have a 100e, next on the to-do list. 2.1 Pinto, 5 speed, 4 bar back axle etc.
Then the 400 van will be in, 5.7 Buick, TH400 and Jag IRS with LSD. That should be entertaining.

So far it's been on the road 8 weeks, I've done about 700 miles in it, and 5 shows, with others on September 3rd, 6th and 8th. Does that qualify???

Thats looking good sid missed doing a few shows this yr What with the van going up in flames
then got paid off, so now working for agency & work most weekends,but once miss piggies on the road next yr they will be looking for someone else. the last show I did was last Oct just south of you at Cheltenham race course.Wouldn`t mind seeing some photos of the 100e when you get started.Here`s a pic from Cheltenham
