temperature wire

can someone tell me where the temperature wire goes on the 2.5di. the position that i am usins is under the top hose is this right? my temperature gauge shows no reading but i know it was working on my previous engine before i tookit out.

the wire is on the right place, take the sensor of your old engine and fit it to your current one? think this may solve your problem, also if you ground that wire to the engine the temp gauge should go to the "top o the shop blind 90!!"
