MK1 Firevan headlights

HI all. I've been busy getting my 67 Firevan ready for MOT so I can get it UK registered. I need help/advice with the headlights.
I thought I would be able to fit a pair of normal RHD 7" Lucas type sealed beams or similar. I took the old german LHD Hella lights out only to
find the german mounting setup is totally different. Not only are the german lights half an inch bigger, but the insert in the wing is
a different shape. The german lights are mounted in a bowl that is then screwed into the wing.Has anybody else come across this
before? What lights did you use? Am I missing something really obvious?
I think this only applies to earlier german vans as looking at various pictures the headlamp bezels are different as well.
I could make the Lucas ones fit with a bit of cutting and welding but it would be a lot easier to find some that bolt straight in!

I haven't worked out how to do pictures on here yet but I've found a picture on here of Airmans dead firevan in Aus, his wings are the same as mine.

I hope someone on here has come across this before.

yes mate - ive just done my 1970 fire van and found the same problem

i used new 7" sealed beams and a mounting kit (i'll see if i can find part no.)

then made an adapter plate from some sheet steel - no welding required

one good thing is they dont seem to rot out like the english headlamp surounds

the headlight mounting set i bought was from MAES in rotherham (01709365032) but i'd imagine you can get it anywhere

headlight mounting set (7") full body Y-S5400 @ £11.03+v each

in total for 2 cost me £25.92 (collected)

i think it was lucas make but it doesnt say on my recipt

I have a pair of those with H4 units fitted.

They are Plastic so.....No more rot
