fuel consumption 2 / compression

Postby Rudz » Fri Jul 01, 2005 4:37 pm

Hi again,

the other idea of increasing the efficiency would be to increase compression. I have the LC ( 1:8 ) version of the 2.0l V4 Essex, and with higher compression the engine should become more efficient. Does anyone have experience with that? Fuel saving? Power increase?

I am interested in companies that would do that by just modifying my cylinder heads, which I can easily ship. I could at the same time get my valve fittings (correct word?) converted to lead free. Specialized Engines Ltd, Essex do such things but I don't want to spend too much.

Thanks for any hints and ideas & Cheers,

Rudolf

yes you could fit hc heads to your engine, or have your heads made to hc , but you would most likely have to run on 97ron gas ,as 95 will probly pink! but it would increase power out put of the 2ltr ,are they only 70ps????? mine i think is only 65ps :D
