Does my memory serve right? The AC/DC van in the Stephen King movie Maximum Overdrive, was it a Mk1 Transit? Been so long since I've seen the movie.

Yep. Directed by Stephen King, who has said that The Shining is the worst filming of his books :)

I have good memories of the film. But I was 8 at the time I saw it. Quess it's better not to watch it again, keep the memories good :)

The upper hand!

Postby mk2panelvan » Fri Jul 08, 2005 12:57 pm

When Caroline Wheatley (Diane Weston) wants to hire a housekeeper, the last thing she expects is for a man to apply for the job.

The man in question is Charlie Burrows (Joe McGann). He gets the job and moves in, along with his daughter, Joanna (Kellie Bright).

Caroline lives with her son Tom (William Puttock), while her mother Laura West (Honor Blackman) lives out in the 'granny flat'.

and old Charlie boy drove a light grean MK2 phase1 SWB panel van!

New avengers

Postby petervanlee » Fri Jul 08, 2005 9:08 pm

Yes I do have the new avengers van it is black with a rainbow on the side and was driven by Eddie izzard in the film it was then stored as they were going to make another follow up film but that never happened.

As for Famous vans not in Films but made by Ford they made quite a few with the help of Steve Stringer in the 1970s, that took the van world by storm, I did see a few of them and in fact Steve went on to become a partner in a company called startvans that made cars and vans for all sorts of people working in TV and films.
