Right shade of red??

Postby tranyman » Fri Jul 22, 2005 9:17 pm

I am restoring a 74 pickup which had been brush painted grey by the last owner.

I want to respray it the standard red with white detailing 'front grill etc'.

What colour code or information would I need to order the correct shade of red and white paint from the paint supplier?

I know that lots were supplied in primer then painted in all sorts of different shades but I want to paint it in the standard factory red.

Thanks

Chris

I don't know whether it's the same red, but the fire wagons like madmarks and mine are RAL 3000.

The trouble with red is it fades really badly, so any colour match has to be lighter each year you get it.
