Postby rik007 » Wed Aug 17, 2005 5:05 pm

Hi folks. Am in need of a source for a Transit Mk1 'F' reg 1968 1600cc Wiper Motor. Second or new doent really matter as long as it works.

My problem is that the return mechanism as worn out. The motor wipes OK but does not return to rest after the wipers are switch off.

The part is an

AC Delco: serial number M7 7968198

Any ideas where I can get one?

Help appreciated,

Cheers Rik.

Welcome! Could the Mk1 be the same as a Mk2, though yours is early? I think go to Geoff too, or try Petervanlee. Our Mk1 never parked in the right place, we just learned the skill of flicking off the ignition or wiper switch when they were in the right place!

Might be worth having a look at the parking switch and/or the wires to it.I think the early Mk1's had a three pin plug on the motor itself and the later ones used a multi plug connector. With a bit of wire swapping you can change them over.I think you'll find some other fords (Cortina Capri) used the same basic motor.
