Postby tuscan440 » Thu Sep 01, 2005 6:43 pm

after establishing transit wheels are definelety 160 pcd (cheers boys) can anyone recommend where i can get some alloys for my camper?? i would love to have the alloy wellers like i already have but ive contacted a repsected wheel seller on ebay and they say they can only get 165 or 139 pcd. and havin a quick scoot around on the net i aint having much like either.such a shame i have 3 good wheels and im only one short of the set.
makes me sad for my camper to have to wear a vile pressed steel wheel.

ps she is abck on the road now after findin an axle for just £50 yipee!!!

Mate- basically your gonna struggle!! I'd steer clear of ebay unless you wanna pay top whack!!
I got my set (same as what you want) from a local free ads paper i had a wanted add running for about 3 months  but in the end it was worth it a guy rung me up wanted £50 for 4 with decent tyres - at the time i didnt realise what a bargain it was!!!

by the way which axle did you end up with mk2 or mk3???
:D

ah nuts, well i am an ebay addict so i shouldnt miss anymore, how much is it to chrome a single wheel??it is a thought, could do two then have a spare!!
dont get local ads much, mine seem to be absolutely fruitless for anyhting transit related.

gota mk2 axle in the end, excluding drums and one set of brake shoes but not bad for £50, funny thing is we all said bolox to it lets pay the £175 we got quoted before and get thing on the road, phoned the guy who quoted us and turns out it was up in liverpool waiting for him and he wasnt going up anytime soon so picked up the yellow pages for neighbouring county, first guy i phoned had one, absolutely made up i was i can tell you.bet the guy with the original quote is pissed off!
my two mates/joint owners went to V.festival and i single handedly collected, removed, swapped bits and replaced the axle on the van while it was outsie on hardcore, not an amazing feat but i was quite chuffed seeing as i did it alone in about 9 hours!! just makes it even more satisfying when i drive it, and now my mates owe me two very big drinks!!
