Some more 6 cylinder Mk1 Photos and info from AUS

Postby stooy » Tue Sep 13, 2005 5:36 am

I have posted these before but a long time ago. Mine is a 6/74 factory mk1 3300cc six cylinder which puts out aprox 100kw. Most mk1's i have seen here in Aus are the six cylinder. They were very commonly used by Austrailia post and then by trades people after that. Mine was originally owned by the Red Cross and then my my grandfather from 1976 - 2001. I belive the steering gear and front nose cone is from the english diesel model. The main negative of the 6 cylinder is that i belive the enging would have to come out to get the head off and that you get the buldge in the cabin as seen in the photo.

Any one know about suspension? because i seems to handle fairly well for what it is ..... sits fairly flat round corners, though the new set of radials might help. I wonder if my suspension is english diesel or petrol any clues?

Hope these photos are of intrest

I did post that I could do a Ford Transit Forum callendar over in 'Merchandise', but I got no response and am convinced hardly anybody goes there, sadly.

Hey Browneye and stooy and any other aussies here

The Van Nationals will be on at easter at Great lakes central coast NSW
Would like to see your vans there and would be something special to get a heap of transits together

They dont need to be Custom vans, just neat cruisers
