Parts for Mark 2 in London

we need to replace the steering arm on our 1978 ford transit camper - i've looked on ebay but had no luck, we need it quite urgently and no mechanic seems to be able to find one. does anyone know anywhere local in london we can go?

Is that a typing error, or is yours a really early Mk2?

the steering arm is very unlikely to be worn ,its the steering box with play in it! these can be addjusted!

This is a Mk1 -



this is a Mk2 -



both are the later versions and LWB, so if yours is a Mk2 pahse2, you will have a flush front with a metal grille and maybe round headlights, but the shape will be the same

yeah it looks like a mark 2, except with a camper body on it

yeah, i cant see the actual arm being the problem, what is the problem/symptoms you have ??

well it turns out it was just the ball joint for the drag link, so the mechanic has got the part and fixed it in the space of a day. makes me wonder what everyone else was doing when they had our van for a week and couldn't get any parts or do anything at all!

Thats the trouble with garages they rarely see old motors, your better off with and old boy who a freind recomends who's been doing it for so long he remebers how to do old motors
New cars are of the "replace the whole thing" construction whereas older cars can be repaired peice by peice.

I love older motors, my favourite project car, that I rebuilt from scratch about 10 years ago, is a 1964 Bond '875' .... With an Imp 'Sport' engine in the back, driven by a 60year old woman, she just loves to leave the 'boy racers' in their Pugs and Citorens for dead at the lights

I'm only 36 yet I was brought up on older vehicles.....I assume thats what the was for? So I'm saying you dont have to be an "old boy" to be knowledgeable about classic vehicles..
