Mine was RYF 44Y, it was an AA/BRS van fitted with 12/24v jump starting and we carried stuff for hgv's, susies, 24v bulbs and the like. It made a difference from fixing Morris Marinas and 1100's  All AA vans had Y- endings YE YF YY etc.

Your van would have been released from the main workshops in Basingstoke. Where is it now as I think that it would have been a London patrol force van.

my van was in classic car weekly paper about 8 mths ago i bought it of guy in wolverhampton his father was going to restore but sadly pasted away and i beleve they bought it from R.H.JONES. who bought it direct release from AA dont think its been on road for about 5 years i went up and towed it back with a spec lift to portsmouth and ive just finished it all bar me moting it. its had front legs x member (made from sheet steel) and by that i mean the legs the x member but as per ford made them no bodge ups here. sills iner arches steps iner rear valance cut a wheel arch in it had been put over the top ( what a bodge) fitted secon hand lower windscreen section panel rebuilt o.s front wing rail. out rigers. iner front arches both sides were it got a sliding door had to rebuild the runner just done cam belt oil plugs rear diff oil seal and thats what i havent forgot. o i also fitted a step bumper and becoz i did that had to lenghten the towbar just went on and on. the guy said that he had sold it the week b4 i turned up but they were going to break it so he said no i wont it put back on the road so hopefully next week i will get it moted
