Same route as eariler in the week but with lights, heater and fridge running ( 12 volts) and needle stayed at 1/4 and rose to half after climbing two hills flat out in 4th doing about 42 mph. Charge warning light is still on but only very dim. Thank you all for your help.

Sounds cool. I've see grey fergys with Isuzu engines and majors with Perkins v8 diesels but haven't seen a conversion on a dexta yet. I,ll have a look on you tube at home as signle isn't great on mobile.
