On a similar issue.I had to have a new screen in my taxi.Quotes varied from £70 all in to £220..00 plus VAT!.
The sceens actually cost about £30 from Pilkington.A £40 call out is reasonable £190 certainly isn't.

I managed to get hold of some MK1 windscreen rubbers. They take an insert piece but that isn't supplied, use your old one or you can order from places like Woolies at about £1.70p per metre.Anyone who wants one let me know. They'll be £40.00 plus 1st class post £5.50 (UK) .I won't accept paypal unless the cost of doing so is added to the total as I'm making bugger all out of these.

I have managed to get another nine of the seals. After that there are no more unless I am willing to pay to have the dies to make them overhauled and remachined or guarantee a very big minimum order.

Hello Fred.I've put your name on one of the nine when they get here (should only be a few days).I had a new screen put in mine and the fitters used one of the rubbers, with the insert they said it is much easier than using a solid. They advised leaving a new rubber in place either on the new screen or in the hole if possible for a day so that it 'sets'.Also apparently silicone buggers rubber up,something new I've learned.

I said I would find out a price and that is what I have been doing.
So far the cheapest I have been able to find is £44.50p .Norway is one of the most expensive countries to send to and the smallest box I can pack the rubbers in to stop them getting creased is 50cm square.

Hello Ketil.
I have tried everywhere to find a cheaper cost to send to Norway but Federal Express,DHL etc all want more. The total is 87.93 if paying by paypal. The address for it is kevin@baconsdozen.co.uk. Are you sure you don't know anyone who will be coming to England sometime?. The post seems crazy when Europe is much cheaper.
Regards
Kevin
