New Spigot bearing is included mate, although the one fitted to Robbie's engine was exactly the same dimensions.

On Robbie's van we used the original Mk5 di cable on the Pinto conversion and then later on the Essex.
Some modification was necessary to the throttle cable bracket but it was fairly simple to install.

Oh ok, did you cut a square hole in the bracket or weld a bit off another bracket onto it?
I'm wondering what the chances are of a 3.0 capri throttle cable fitting at the pedal end? Theres one at the scrap yard at the moment.

Its a shame there wasn't these adaptor plates availible when I first put my essex engine in! I've got a type 9 in mine with the bellhousing that takes ages to find and costs a fortune!

Might be worth trying the 3.0 Capri cable, will fit the carb end, should be long enough, you could always have the pedal as well if the cable fitting is different and weld the fitting onto a Transit pedal.

Those 2.5 Essex bell housings are rare and do command an excessive price, seen them change hands for more than I charge for the whole kit!

At least you now know what to do when that poor little type nine decides to 'give up'.
