then you will be fine its easy to mod - just the mounting brackets need adjusting

righto i seem to be getting somewhere in my head now

is my plan for the prop sensible or do you recomend a different option?

prop - as your going swb to lwb - right yeah? you'll not beable to shorten it but according to info on here the mk3 lwb prop is the same lenght as the mk2 so a mk3 mt75 (1989-1986) should fit ok other than that you'll need any later lwb prop and shorten it

or lengthen your swb one but i dont think they are thick enought to take the extra length

What about weld the flanged u-j from the mk4 prop onto the mk2 prop?

mk2 prop the correct length just spline instead of flange isnt it?

mabe - the mk2 prop slides in and out of the front splines (in the gearbox), the mt75 has a sliding part on the prop - mines at the back - there are plenty of different ones - you could mabe make one out of the 2 but it will need the slider on it to take into account the axle movenent

Copy that, i think mine on the mk4 slides in the middel, so i can use the drive end uj from this one to replace the drive end uj from the mk2 prop?

i am guessing now just got a picture in my head and trying to imagine how i could do it

no scrap that cos the drive end is shorter on the swb and to keep the slider you need it right up to the center bearing so thats that out
so new prop it is

Hi Luke, found a guy who has a a few old props in his yard but none have been labeled so he cant tell me what they came off, all he knows is there should be at least a couple of mk3 ones there

Can you tell me what length the mk3 prop should be please do do my conversion?

this way i can just go down with a tape and pick one up rather than do the build and then measure the gap!
