Back in off our travels again, breifly in between festies.
Just done a 500 mile round trip with no problems at all :)
yey hey.
South wales to kent and back in somthing of this size n age on £70 worth of diesel and come home with a qtr of a tank still.
seems dammed good to me.
It flew its mot hooray.
Only needed a number plate bulb and new drivers mirror (oops, the hedge did it )
Mot tester was pleasantly surprised to find a solid chasis, not a weld in sight :)
Serviced up but tappits untouched it seems to be running very ecconomically,
still sluggish up the hills, but better than it was.
Top speed on last journey according to sat nav was 67.4 mph (he did it,thankfully i was asleep)

And yes it is a strange mk1 /2 bish bosh.

Thinking i should bring it up to Transimania in August n let you all have a looky.

I'd be very interested to find someone who knows when n why the front end was changed.
in my "new" van i get waved at not glared at ...Yeyyyyyyyyy :)

circumstances changed

Due to a change in circumstances im contemplating selling This van
if anyones interested or can give me an idea of what its worth please let me know.

Aswell as the mechanical tweaks mentioned earlier in the thred ,
We've done a bit inside,made a few umm changes :)
by removing the bathroom and fitting a woodburner.(childproofed, with very discrete chimney)
Removing the non working kitchen n replaced with a 3 ring hob, grill and sink.with loads of storage under.

I've used this van for 1o monthes with very few problems.
With the burner lit its toasty even when theres snow on the ground outside.
It has 10 monthes mot tax til end sept.

Its an interesting one,as mentioned earlier being a mk1 with a mk 2 exterior .
2.5 di Engine 6 speed manual (4 spd box with 2 overdrives)
Is surprisingly good on fuel
good on most things other than hills and my elbows

bad points.
bonnet looking a bit tatty in places.
did have a leak in the back but repaired it now.
its got a few dings n marks here n there but its 32yrs old and used.
There is an area of distortion to the exterior of the c.van body, previous owner said it was like it when he had it,has never changed n is thought to possibly be related to an oven over heating at some time.
I've had it nearly a yr and it hasnt changed or altered the vans use in any way,but you gotta mention these things havnt you.

Chasis never been welded.
starts n drives first time every time fair play.
Its a big ole thing 22ft i believe.
Stretchhhhhed :)

I'll be sad to see it go.
in my "new" van i get waved at not glared at ...Yeyyyyyyyyy :)
