dont know if this is still of any use, but i bbought the glass brand new, from a company in rochdale. if anyone would like the number post here, and i will post it up here. also it realy annoys me when iam trying to read on a subject, and have to wade through post after post of kid's name calling each other. or is it just me???? :wink:

Good idea to publish any links that help people.There's a bit about and a photo,phone number etc of a firm who can supply cut to shape laminated or toughened glass near me in Lowestoft on this page http://www.baconsdozen.co.uk/londontaxi.html They might do mail order.I''ve used them a few times as you can see,and recommend them.

You can have any flat glass tempered (toughened) - I've just fitted toughened glass to the interior house doors as per building regulations. Tinted, patterned, no problem. They come back with an E-mark on each individual pane to prove it too...
These are the guys who did mine, sent off to be done so a lead time of a few days, about £25 for two panes approx. 250mm wide by 1250mm tall.

Only problem I'd see would be having to have the edges ground smooth might add to the cost and whether vehicle glass is a standard thickness.
Much less hassle just to buy your glass from a specialist - who'll at least get it to your nearest depot - but I thought the info might be useful for those with campers/ non-standard sidewindows etc.
