Can´t seem to identify the color of my mk2

Postby Frollo » Tue Oct 15, 2019 7:48 am

I have been to multiple paint shops, and they have no idea what colour my car is...

It says on the chassis: Farbe: HG

among other things. Does my paint still exist?

(PS: The paint is light blue)

There is just one I found.

HG was used for "Blue Truck" and later for "Honor Green" ( 2002 - 2007 )

I hope it helps.

If you see the tree you will hit, it is called an understeer.
If you just hear and feel the impact, it is called oversteer.

I have a MK2 that I would like to do some repainting in some areas.

It's a German-made transit with the color code: HG

It's a light blue paint.

Is there any way possible for me to get a can of spray paint for my van?

The problem is that HG is just valuable for Ford dealers. I reckon that maybe this color code was just available in Germany.

To get the right color code, which is a so-called XSC code, I need the VIN of your vehicle and the first registration date. Then maybe I can get the right code from a local Ford dealer. But there is no guarantee.

I had this kind of problem already when I was learning auto mechanics at the beginning of the 80s. Ford colors were the hardest to get, even on current models.

I found an XSC code and a name for your color.

Ford code: 229 Blue Truck / Bermudablau

External color code: XSC0942 Bermudablau

The XSC code will help any painter to mix the color.

Good luck.

Thank you! I will try to locate a paint shop and give them that information.
