Not sure but if both mk1&2 don’t forget the spacer blocks that go between spring and axle it’s a long time ago but I think the Ford parts department told us that the spacer block and longer u bolts was the only difference between petrol and diesel or it may have been difference between Perkins and York engine

Hi dumper, thanks for your reply
&info
When i fitted a di in my ex AA 120 mk2, before changing the pinto i fitted springs from a v6 ambulance that had been broken up, & i drove it like this for a week or so, and with those springs fitted and still with the pinto it looked like a cross between a 4x4 transit or one without an engine if you get what i mean the camber of spring was far greater and that was without spacer blocks

The tallest spring with spacer is what was fitted on my v4 mk1,
the lower springs are from a 160 mk2 petrol i broke up for boby parts but just kept springs in the shed,
I also broke up a 160 diesel springs that i have fitted at moment but it also sits low and as you can see from pictures spacer block isnt going to lift sufficiently for my liking

I fitted 120 springs on rear with the spacer blocks and i will as you suggest once its outside all back together if im not happy with how it sits chop rear hanger and put a bit in them, i did this on rear of my mk2, put 2 inches in them but 2 inches on those doesn't lift it 2 inches!!! Because it's in the rear of spring not the middle of axle! But the mk2 sat spot on

problem with springs is they are tempered and that wears weak with time and use,,, early mk 1 s had more layers in them 6 on the back and I think 3 on the front,, if you jack the shackles up and its just the same maybe the springs duff
