Ok So The ratchets loosened easily and the brakes pulled in. (Thanks Chug)
But still no brakes
I then moved onto bleeding the back brakes. Seemed to all go ok. Bubbles in fluid disappeared and foot pedal pushed clean fluid through- although very little- not squirting by any means.
So figured I was ready I replaced the drums and checked the brakes- no engagement.
Hand brake engages well. So off with drums and viewed the cylinders as my boy pumped the brake. No movement. So I topped the reservoir (not much) and noted as the brake pedal is pushed bubbles were appearing in the reservoir.
As I have the servo I also tried breaking with the engine running. In this case the pedal is pushed with no resistance at all.
So somethings wrong?
Could it be the new cylinders? Are they full of fluid (they bled ok).
Do I need to reset the shoe ratchets?
Does the bubbling in the the reservoir Indicate another problem (brakes worked fine under old cyinders).
