Moving a 'stood up' Mk1 camper

Postby Amature » Sun Aug 16, 2020 8:25 pm

Hi people,

Recently purchased a Mk1 CI Camper which was a barn find.
It's been stood up for 20+ years & now I need to move it.

I was thinking to use a tow bar - does this vehicle have a tow hook on the front to attach to? Any advice on the procedure & freeing up brakes etc?

Cheers
Chris

Seriously unless it's a very short distance, I'd get that properly recovered.
I would imagine the tyres, brakes etc are just waiting to fall to bits after being laid up for that long.

Ok thanks, I'll go with recovery then.

It's got 300'000km on the clock, what would you recommend doing to the engine to get it back up and running well?

Dont do like the lads we bought our auto sleeper off.
They found it in a barn and decided to change oil and put 5/30semi synthetic oil in
Instead of the 20/50mineral.
