mk2 hand brake.

Postby caldwelld » Thu Aug 20, 2020 10:53 pm

Hi everyone,
Could anybody tell me if the hand brake on the Mk2 is the same shape as the Mk1handbrake. I bought a handbrake extender kit for my mk1 1977 transit campervan. The campervan has since been converted to a pick up but the cab is mainly the same as before.
The existing hand brake was very low down and i had difficulty reaching it . I bought the extender from Rare - Spares and it fitted perfectly and brings the hand brake up about 8 inches. The extender was for a Fiat Ducato {or their Citroen and Peugeot equivalents, the Relay and Boxer respectively.
I took a chance and bought it anyway with the option of returning it if it did not fit. I told the company that it fitted the Mk1 but didnt know if it would fit the Mk2, hence my query.
Regards Don

Not a 100% sure long time ago but we never sold vans on and they where broken for spares and I think I’ve fitted a mk1 onto a mk2 a lot of parts being the same.
