Do MKI tail lights fit on an MKII?

Hi everyone.

I have semi-recently got a new (to me) 1978 MKII Transit camper van that I am fixing up. One of the tail lights is broken and the other is rather warn. I found someone selling new tail lights that are listed for a MKI 1965 -1977. They look very similar to the ones on my MKII but the seller is in another state and hopeless about getting back to me with measurements. Does anyone know if the tail lights are compatible? I don't want to spend a lot of money, order them and find they don't fit.

they "should" fit! Those are reproduction tail lights, so as long as they are for a post 70 Mk1 to 86 Mk2 they should fit. The very early Mk1's (65 to 70) just had different screw hole positions where they attached to the body.

Later Phase 2 Mk2's had different fixings & larger holes in the rear quarters as well. 1971-82 are interchangeable.
