You used to get new plug kits for them Lucus used to do them.

Hi again folks...hoping to keep you busy ...maybe this is why the mutleymk1 twat ripped me off :lol: .....
So I'm now getting into replacing this alternator....
Doug etc,I see we refer to needing a alt that has an external regular...that's this Lucas box on the bulk yeah?..

Defo a 11Ac ...thank you...(see pic)..
So I'll just look for an 11ac replacment...

Doug....thank you for all the camper twin charge info, defo a good heads up if I'm going to use camper facilities etc..

Couple of updates..
Thanks for info on leisure battery etc Doug.i hv now invested in a relay trickle charge kit for leisure battery ,very simple kit to fit then fusebox, all yr bits off from that..

Alternator...
So mine is an 11ac Lucus unit..I got a full kit and rebuilt it...all good now....

Your picture from a couple of posts back does show the Lucas regulator (4TR) and there should be a couple of relays in the system as well. One of the relays controls the power to the regulator so that it stops generating when the ignition is turned off and the engine is still turning, and the other relay is to trigger the charging light on/off. Just so you know what they do, if anything starts playing up.

Great that you managed to rebuild it and see how you go. And great that you have gone the leisure battery route. I think it just saves worrying if you do use power.
