Is there a Door window weather trim here?

Postby NogE » Mon Oct 18, 2021 4:46 pm

Hi all.. my mk1 never had any rubber weather trim here...I've noticed looking at other mk1 pics some have this seal...
Was this something ford added at a later date?...
Is this something a good trim company will.sell?...please see pic and advise if u can...

I did get these from Motomobil a while ago but they are now showing "Maybe available" which is not good. They are listed for Mk2 but they worked fine on my Mk1 with a little tweaking.

going from my previous vans over the years i think the rubber seal is a mk2 one and the mk1 has a metal/felt rubbing strip on the inside of the door - it often corrodes away and people replaces them with a mk2 one as they clip in and out

Thanks guys...
Yes I see felt strip on metal bar type..it's glued in place I believe.... thanks Doug....I'll be looking to get the rubber..as the old mk1 felt bar strip looks like it does nothing to pretect...

They look a much better seal than the mk1 arrangement on my dòr, thanks for the idea.

Yes....I noticed these looking at Google mk1 pics...the odd pic had them..the strips inside the mk1s I think are not very effective compared to these...and they do fit very well..
