Just out of interest

Postby posse34 » Wed Nov 07, 2007 10:26 pm

I'm thinking of selling my mk2 transit recovery truck . As I'm on the look out for a mk3 transporter. Its B reg with a 13ft body with ramps etc its had new king pins rear shocks and discs /All it requires is a bit of welding for the mot and a tart up .Its got the later transit 5 speed box and has a 24 york exchange engine .

Any help would be most appreciated

there was one in for sale at £2250.00, don't know if it sold for that cos there was a post on the thread saying the seller would drop the price by £500. It was also on pistonheads http://pistonheads.com/sales/252532.htm

I notice you are in Surrey. Don't forget whatever transit you get will be taken in to the LEZ by 2010, if you come within the M25. I think it has to be at least (by 2010) be registered after 2005. Even then the registrations included are 'rolling', that's to say as they get older, they are taken in to the scheme, and you have to pay £100 a day to use them within the M25 (diesels only).

I take it you are another transit owner that didn't know.....

You can usually check with TFL by putting the number plate into thier checker, but it's not available at the mo

sorry i was editing my post when you posted. Too many people think it's only lorries and buses. I bet you were going to go out and buy a 2001 ish truck and think you will be OK. Sorry it doesn't work like that.

yeah right. We are keeping our options open (got just under 3 years now), even thinking about moving. We are 50/50 petrol to diesel, and as far as the film work goes, the charge will have to go on top.

Does this mean that Gas powered V6 recovery trucks are ok? if so I'd keep the old one and do that instead!! In fact doesn't the new legislation make everyone want to go out and buy a kanckered oil burning pinto powered shed? At least its not evil diesel......
