mk1 rod link type clutch questions

Postby NogE » Mon Jun 06, 2022 7:47 pm

hi all..
can anyone advise me on getting a good clutch pedal in my mk1.. pedal is biting rather high..it's a new full unit just fitted..
the pedal has lots of slack lift too..
I mean ,when it's in neutral I can lift pedal with hand about a inch and a half..
the adjustment rod thread end is touching the bellhousing..I hv a good return spring fitted too..
can these rod units be updated??

any advice please..

today I disconnected the rods...the one that come across from sill over to fork rod I noticed has two position holes for that fork rod..so I used the upper hole,..I adjust off the slack and sprayed silicon spray on the bushes in the pedal box area....the good steel return spring helps lots..pedal feels alot easier now...plus biting better at middle....I guess that's info I might of got here sooner or later.....
interested in others clutch issues tho
