mk11 brake fluid reservoir

Postby yardcommander » Wed Nov 16, 2022 3:50 am

I have a 1985 Lotus Esprit vS3 turbo that from what I can basically see uses the same mk11 brake fluid reservoir, and I am trying to chase a new one or one in better condition than mine. was told to join a forum and make enquiries through the people who know.
Can anybody assist me.

Thanks, I’m in Australia, the lotus esprit master cylinder is vw t4 van and the vacuum servo is unknown even to lotus and SJ Sportscars and no longer serviceable and I have already sorted those out, but thanks again anyway.

The servo, brake master and clutch slave have all been sorted, it’s now just the reservoir.

Yes, I’ve looked there, there’s 1 there looks a bit similar but it says 86-95 and only 1 photo so can’t confirm it is the same. Will wait to hear back from one of the members who thinks he might have one.

If you look next to that one you've seen there is a button to ask a question about the item, they are helpful and friendly.

It looks like it might be this one.

This is from a Transit Mk3 86-91 Bendix/Bosch Double Split master cylinder. The photo is from Brakeparts.co.uk who have it under their reference BMC4274 and as out of stock and "rare". It looks like they would only sell it as a new master cylinder and reservoir together.

But if this is it, then it might give you a direction to continue the search.
