hi i have an old b reg 2 litre ohv tranny automatic last night went to start and nada check no fuel coming thru disconnect pump operate manually fuel is pumping ththru tow home put electric pump on nada feel the little push rod that operates the fuel pump not going in and out as engine turns over pull distributor cap rotor not turning IS THE DISTRIBUTOR DRIVING THE FUEL PUMP HAS THE CAM GEAR GONE AM AT A LOSS COS HAYNES MANUAL DOESNT COVER IT AND IM STUCK OUT IN THE COUNTRY WITH A DEAD TRANNY ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED BATTERIES PLUGS CAP LEADS FILTERS ETC ALTERNATOR STARTER MOTOR ALL REBUILT OR NEW IN LAST SIX MONTHS HELP APPRECIATED PIRATE

YEP CAMBELT IS OK AM NOW TAKING FRONT OFF AND RAD AND GOING INTO THE TIMING CHAIN ONLY THING LEFT THAT I CAN THINK OF

WELL THE MANUAL SAYS CHAIN BUT I DO LIKE THE SOUND OF A BELT BETTER AS THERE ARE NO NASTY NOISES COMING OUT THE MOTOR WHEN I TURN IT OVER PIRATE

vehicle is 1984 2 litre ohc automatic according to manual has a timing chain not a belt ill let you know monday night as cant work on it manana
