Oil pressure switch connector

Postby Mikexx » Thu Aug 01, 2024 6:05 pm

It seems that the original pressure switch on the V4 was a 1/8-27 NPT thread with a 8-32 UNC thread for the electrical connector.

The one on my engine I hope is 'faulty' has a spade connector.

I've looked for connectors for the 8-32 UNC thread and failed. Would this have used a nut to secure a spade connector or used a direct push-on connector?

If push-on can you get these?

The one on my wiring harness is a red push on connector. Wood Auto is probably the most likely place to find one. Alternatively just use a 4mm ring terminal with washers, a very cheap and easy solution.

In the past I’ve used a red or blue crimp on electrical terminal

In the end I fitted a Mini oil pressure switch that had a spade connector. It has the same 1/8-27 NPT thread.

The switch opens at a higher pressure than the original spec. When hot it does flicker but I am also using 5-40 fully synthetic oil.
