Looking for the speedometer driving gear for my MK2 transit

Postby hab » Thu Nov 27, 2025 11:14 am

Hello everyone,

Very recently the speedometer driving gear of my MK2 petrol Transit worn out, and now the speedometer is not working. Unfortunately I cannot find this part anywhere.

There where different such driving gears for the MK2 Transit, but the one I need is for the F type geabox with 22 teeth. Please see below:

https://www.motomobil.com/en/products/g ... -4496710-2

I know in the past this part was constructed by some specific machine shops, but unfortunately in Greece I cannot find anyone who does this anymore.

Some people proposed 3D printing it (the worn part is plastic), but I am not sure if this is even possible.

Does anyone have any such experience, or does anyone know any machine shop which can still make such gears?

Thank you for your replies Chug and bortaf!

The part which I removed from my Transit had the number 11 449 671 (see below) and from the Motormobil website I came to the conclusion that my gearbox type is F. Unfortunately I do not know how to determine the gearbox in any other way.

I will try to buy this part from bearingkits when it comes available again, but I also found a machine shop which manufactured the gear using brass. The only problem is that we did not know the initial width of the gear (mine was pretty worn), so I am not sure if it will work. In any case I will keep you updated.
