U Bolts

Gents...

I need a pair of U bolts for the rear leaf springs of my 1985 Mk2 bus. Ford are having trouble getting hold of them, the ones they have managed to get are too long.

Any ideas of part numbers? Or does anyone have a pair they would like to sell??

Try a commercial spring manufacturer. In London there is a company called Paddington Springs, they made some of our springs, maybe they would do mail order for the U bolts.

when i replaced rear springs on my mk1, i used flat plated drilled the four holes put them on top of springs and used 6 inch nuts and bolts,no probs with mot all worked ok, did the same with front when i put extra leaf in spring,

you may get some from a landrover place, i think they are pretty much the same

Thanks all... Comet - that was going to be my last resort.

However, speaking to another assistant at the local Ford garage has turned up the proper article, and half the price of what I had previously been old!
