Blimey i've only had it a few weeks!

Just coming back from the Goodwood tax exempt breakfast meet (yes i snuck in!) on the A27 at Chichester - when disaster! I'm overtaken by some 4x4 monster pickup that throws up some stones and they go straight through the windscreen! Luckily i managed to get her on the side without hitting anything (or the colleague in the Moggy behind hitting me). As luck would have some very nice couple in a house close by along with John a local SAAB guru and others helped me remove the glass and I drove her sans glass to a lock up. Like riding a motorbike in a van - 'cept glass instead of flies!

So here's the thing - does anyone know where i can get a new windscreen for my MK1

Most auto glass people should be able to get them.

Yep still available, I paid £83 for one fitted last year in a Mk2 (same screen assuming its a standard Transit). The new ones are also Laminated rather than Hardened so it wont shatter like the original

Hi Wardy (strangely enough I'm a Wardy too - Simon Ward - but not the star of Aces High - you will be showing your age if you know this!).

Can you tell me if your screen is laminated or toughened. Today scared the proverbial out of me so i think i need to go for something that won't shatter.

By the kite mark, in the top center. It will actually say if it's toughened.
