4 spd overdrive box

Can someone please tell me how to wire the overdrive system on the od box as mine has a pile or loose wires hanging from it that I need to sort out

You'll have to probably start from scratch.
From the ignition a wire goes to the on/off switch on the gear lever.From there another wire goes to the switches on the box itself,The idea is that in any other gear other than 3 or 4 the circuit is broken regardless of the position of the gear lever switch.After the switches on the box it ends up feeding the solenoid on the back of the box,another wire completes the connection to earth.
Make sure there is no way current can be supplied to the solenoid in reverse (because it will instantly wreck the box beyond repair) and not in 1 or 2 (to avoid over revving).There is a third switch on the box which operates the reverse lights,you can work out which is which with a meter or test light bulb.

any chance of a diagram? hand drawn would do. i cant find life from ignition. where does it come from?

Use a meter or test light to find a life feed with ignition on from the switch ot fuse box etc.

2ND fuse from the right is where I went its ignition switched, remember to go onto the bottom of the fuse, so that the power is fed through the fuse, and not before
