I have a Transit that will run for 10 miles and then the throttle stops responding and the engine dies. It has had a replacement vv carb from another vehicle which was running perfectly, but still has the same problem.

It has been suggested to me that the spark maybe breaking down as it gets hot, or that the fuel pump is not working properly? Any ideas please?

It is a 1988 2litre Transit Frontier camper...

It could even be as simple as a blocked breather at the tank, when it wont go jump out and take the fuel cap off, if there's a big whoosh of air sucked in then its the breather.

You really need to check for a spark and fuel delivery also, if you dont know how I would suggest you get it to a mechanic that does.

On my cars/transit with a carb i fit a clear inline fuel filter to keep dirt out of carb but also if you grind to a halt at the side of road (as mine did the other week) you can jump out and see if there's fuel being drawn from the tank - my petrol tank is shot and it's sucking rust up the pipe and blocking fuel when a big bit goes up - anyone one got a chassis cab mk2 fuel tank for sale?

Saw this I've had the same problem, (which i resolved with Rovers help) thanks again Rover. In my case it was the fuel pump which was some £22 plus the vat. Hope this helps. Andy
