mk2 rear door lock

hi guys, anyone got a parts catalogue for a mk2 190 van with regular rear doors (not tail lift)

what i'm after is the part number (and pic if you can) of the rear door lock barrel, i think there was some subtle differences between that one and the one used on the front doors, and i keep seeing locks come up on ebay, but i'd like to know the correct part number before taking the plunge.

I had a penis of a time trying to find somewhere to repair mine so I just replaced it with a chrome shed lock, does the job way better than the original lock and looks better too, picked it up for 24 australian dollars.

just make sure that the square pin is the same size as the hole in your locking thingy.

Take your handle with you to the hardware store as reference as some of them are different sizes

i cant quite picture what your meaning here.

and yes, rear door lock barrels are hard to deal with, they are longer than the door barrels, and if i have to i will take mine appart completely and try and fix it. I am tempted to dead lock the doors somehow too.... we'll see, maybe before i get to it i will find a replacement

When you remove the rear door handle and the inner door handle, you will see they are connected through a small (half a centimetre or so) square hole, and a square pin.

It is exactly the same principal for a shed door or any other door I have encountered.

If you find a same size shed door handle, they lock, and they look wicked and seem a lot stronger than the original transit ones do.

Are you meaning something like a garage door, which has an integral lock? Over here sheds have separate locks, or we use a padlock. A pic would be good.

yeah a door lock for a shed, its just a door handle, you get ones shaped like Ts and other shaped like normal handles.
