Postby pipeforce » Sat Jan 03, 2009 9:41 am

Can any one help to explane how the windscreen washer pump system works I have the pump and the bonnet squirters but am missing the bottle that lived in the engine bay and the connecting tubing but if i can find out how they all work together i'm sure i could make something up.

Yes it is the other side mounted where the steering box would go on a left hand drive I've still got the frame but no bottle. Thanks for the picture but it still dose'nt shed any light on the set up and yes it is for my 66 pickup

Oh sorry I didn't read the post correctly I'll go and lick my tyres clean!

About the bottle falling on the manifold, how did it fall? shouldn't it fit on that shelf opposite(rhd) the steering box below the manifold.
the original bottles are quite rare as they go hard and brittle

My MK1 has got an electic pump, and still retains the original round bottle.

There's a seperate switch on the dash to activate the pump.

It all looks like original fitment and not a DIY job.

I can get some piccies if you need them.

i think they are origanal mabe a 71+ addition as some of mine have had them :D

if your not into origanality best to swap as the bottle isnt very big for todays traffic - in 1971 on the M1 once you got past watford gap you didnt see another car till you got to sheffield - so my dad tells me
