Mk2 3.0 Rear Diff

ive got a rear axle from a factory fitted 3.0 v6 essex riot van, but the ratio plate is so corroded i cant read it

what are the chances it will be a L.S.D??

also how can i check if it has lsd or what ratio it is ?

the one on my mk2 now is a good ration also she flew along at 70-75mph with a 2.0 pinto and a heavy body

jack the back end up, turn a wheel and if the opposite side rotates the same direction it has an lsd.

Turn a wheel 1 rev and count the number of revs the input flange has, ie 4 revs to 1 tyre rev equals 4:1, hope im right lol, memory not as good these days

bugger axle is off and on the floor looks like ill have to try and prop it up

it will be 4.63 if it is from a 3ltr! as for the lsd mk3 transits had this but i have never come across a mk2 with lsd! :wink:

oh well, either way i think it will be going on, unless the one on there is a 4.63 also :wink:

3ltr was standard 4.63 ,on a pinto if it was a mk2 it may well be 4.63 as well ,its only wen they went to mk3 they thourt 5.4 and a 5 speed would be better! :wink:
